IBM Microelectronics designs, develops and manufactures industry-leading custom silicon chips that are used in a myriad of products, ranging from the newest smartphones to generation after generation of world-class IBM servers. IBM innovations have transformed the semiconductor industry with advances such as low-k dielectrics, copper interconnects, silicon germanium (SiGe) and silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technologies. As part of the IBM Systems and Technology Group, and along with a strategic alliance of business partners working together at Albany Nanotech and the IBM Semiconductor Research and Development Center, we continue to explore new design architectures, materials and manufacturing processes to build smaller, faster, more powerful and more energy-efficient chips — the technology it takes to help build a Smarter Planet.

Positions available within IBM’s semiconductor manufacturing and development operations include Manufacturing Engineering, Development, Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, Quality, IT, Semiconductor Marketing/Planning/Pgm. Management and Operations

Basic requirements: candidates should have hardware design, test, circuit/logic design, power systems, verification, analysis, testing, semiconductor processes or other process engineering, supply chain or operations management experience through class work or co-op/internship.

Majors: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Materials Science. Also business majors for some sales, operations and strategy positions.

Degrees:  Pursuing BS, MS, PhD

Positions may be available in different locations, including: Essex Junction, VT, Hopewell Junction, NY, Albany, NY.  A small number of openings may be available in Research Triangle Park, NC, Boston, MA and San Jose, CA.
